Welcome to Puffins Class Page
A huge thank you to all those parents and children who attended the workshop. We hope you found it useful when supporting your child with their learning over the next few months, prior to the 'Phonics Screening Check'.
For any parents who were unable to attend, the presentation is below and any handouts have been sent home. Thank you.
On Thursday we went to our outdoor learning area. We did some exploring and played some games. Mrs Lloyd read us a story about a hedgehog who lost all his prickles.
We then had to explore the area and find some that Spike could use for his Prickles.
We then turned a lump of clay, which is a natural material found in the ground, into Spike.
Look and see the end results
Outdoor Learning is fun!
Wedgwood Museum and Factory Tour
Puffins Class have been learning all about famous potters. Josiah Wedgwood was born nearly 300 years ago. We went to the museum and factory to learn more about Josiah and his family and to see how pottery is made today.
Josiah Wedgwood made from plates.
Did you know Josiah Wedgwood only had one leg?
Did you know that some of the pottery is painted in real gold?
It costs a lots of money buy and all the gold is hand painted.
We painted some pots for our Mummys.
We did lots of learning.
We had a GREAT time!
Black Country Museum Visit
On Monday 22nd October 2018 Puffins class went to the Black Country Museum in Dudley. We had a great day washing, attending a school lesson and learning about life in the past. We also had a fantastic lunch! See below for the things we did.
100 years ago, washing took all day and it was hard work.
Next it was onto the school for a lesson. Two of us got the cane for not listening. Look to see who it was!!
Lunch was YUMMY!
We learned lots of amazing facts about homes, shops and food in the past.
Did you know the toilet was a bucket outside? The boys had to empty it when it was full! YAK!
We all had a fun day of learning. 'It was the best day ever!' said Jack.
