It is Shrove Tuesday this week. Shrove Tuesday is a Christian festival celebrated in many countries. It falls on the Tuesday before the beginning of Lent. During Lent, Christians give up luxuries to remember when Jesus went into the desert for 40 days to fast and pray. We have included some optional resources below for you to explore if you would like to. On Shrove Tuesday it is a tradition to eat pancakes. This tradition comes from families using up all of the ingredients in their cupboards so that they can start Lent the next day.
If you make any pancakes please send us some photographs or videos. What is your favourite topping?
