Update - 22.06.20:

We have now made contact with all pre-school settings. Sadly, as transition visits are not possible this year, it is our aim over the next few weeks for a member of the Doves Class staff to call you, for an informal chat. If you miss the call, please do not worry, we will call back. We hope to introduce ourselves, find out a little more about your child and answer any questions that you may have.

We look forward to speaking to you soon.

Update - 25.06.20

Sadly our usual transition arrangements have not been able to take place this year. However, we are happy to be able to offer you the opportunity to come to school, with your child, for a story time session during the last week of term. This will last approximately 40 minutes.

It will take place on Tuesday 14th July. The children will be split into two groups, one session will take place at 11am and another at 2pm. Your child will be asked via text to attend one of these sessions. Please can you reply with 'yes' or 'no' to the text so that we can make the appropriate arrangements. This will be an opportunity to meet with the class teachers and some of your child's classmates. Please note that this will take place outside, so it will be weather permitting.

Due to current restrictions, can we please ask that:

  • Only one parent accompanies each child
  • You arrive at school at the set time and socially distance if queuing
  • Come through the main gate, then turn directly left, and enter the playground via another gate where staff will be waiting
  • We will ask children to come into the 'MUGA' (Multi-Use Games Area) where the children will  be asked to walk safely to a chair, ready for an introduction and story time
  • Parents will be asked to wait around the fencing area, whilst maintaining social distancing
  • The children will be dismissed back to you steadily for you to exit the site

We hope that you will be able to attend, but if you are unable please do not worry.

We have also added some further useful starting school documents to the list below.

We look forward to hopefully meeting some of you soon.

Take care,

From Mrs Hume and Mrs Kendrick
