Another busy day ahead. My goodness it was cold doing PEW outside yesterday. Well today we have got English, Maths RE and PSHE.
English: Today we are going to learn the alternative ways for pronouncing 'i''. Start with phonics play revising all phase 3 and phase 5a flash cards. Go through the powerpoint. Practise reading and writing the different words. Have a look through some books and see what words you find with 'i'.
Dictate the following sentences. Can you remember how to write them?
The wild child did a trick.
You will find a big stick behind a tree.
While writing these think about your capital letters, full stops and letter formation.
Maths: Today we are going to learn how to write all the number words to 20. Watch the white rose video clip. Look at the number to 20 ppt. Can you guess what the word will be when the letters come down. Copy the words and practise writing them over and over again.
RE: Today we are going to learn about advent. Advent means coming. Who is coming. What do you already know about him? How do we get ready for advent? Explain that in church Advent starts four Sundays before Christmas and is a time for counting down and getting ready. How do we count down for Christmas? Explain that many Christians and churches display Advent wreaths. They are a circle, never ending. The greenery shows that his love is everlasting and the red berries symbolise his blood.
Make your own Advent wreath by drawing around your hand a number of times on green paper. cut them out. Stick them in a circle and then add red berries.
PSHE: Today we are going to recognise that healthy eating is part of a healthy lifestyle. Work through the powerpoint and complete the activities as you go along.
Finish the day with some quiet reading.
