Good morning everyone,
How are you all today? Well today is guided reading with Mrs Kendrick, so I have provided you with a comprehension so that you can practise reading for meaning. Choose the set of questions that you think will give you a bit of a challenge! Also don't forget you can read some books on bug.
In Maths we are learning to take away by crossing the tens. Watch the white Rose video and complete the activity sheet.
In phonics we are practising all the different graphemes that make the 'ee' phoneme. Read the phoneme spotter story and spot all the words that make the 'ee' phoneme. How many different ways have you found? Write down the words and practise reading them.
In History we are learning some facts about Emma Bridgwater.
Look at the fist slide of the powerpoint. What can they tell me about Emma Bridgewater?
Was she alive before or after Josiah Wedgwood? What about Clarice Cliff? How do we know? Where do you think she should go on our timeline from last week?
Work through the powerpoint finding facts about Emma Bridgewater. What is important? What is not so important? How is her work different to Clarice Cliff’s and Josiah Wedgwood’s pottery? Why do you think that might be?
Can you complete a biography about Emma Bridgewater, including where she lived, significant dates etc.
What questions would you like to ask Emma Bridgewater?
OPTIONAL: When complete the children could create a new piece of Emma Bridgewater pottery. How can we tell that it is based on her work?
Have a great day.
