Pancakes Pancakes Pancakes!!
Next week on the 16th February it is Shrove Tuesday and you know that means PANCAKES!!!
Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent is the Christian period leading up to Easter, when people often give up something.
In the past people were not allowed to eat foods such as eggs, so to use them before Lent began, people would mix them with other rich foods such as milk, flour and butter to make pancakes.
Your challenge is to design a pancake and then make it!
Use the design sheet below and follow the instructions to make your pancake.
There are also 2 extra challenges I would like you to have a go at.
1. How high can you flip a pancake? (watch mom & dad's ceiling!! )
2. Have a pancake race with your family.
I have also included a nice story all about a pancake that runs away!!
Have great fun practicing your culinary skills
