DAILY EXPECTED WORK:

  • 20 minutes reading and 20 minutes practicing times tables ( maybe on TT ROCKSTARS)

ENGLISH

WALT: pick out examples of good punctuation, grammar and word choices from a  text.

Today, we begin our new class story called THE IRON MAN , written y Ted Hughes.

 

For today's lesson, read through the first part of Chapter 1 below.

Print off the text and then, mark on the text (you can use a colour code if you want to) any examples of the following you can find:

  • fronted adverbials : I S P A C E    
  • expanded noun phrases : adjective / adjective / noun
  • similes: e.g. as slippery as a snake
  • question marks ?
  • exclamation marks !
  • paragraphing T I P T O P
  • subordinating conjunctions I SAW A WABUB

MATHEMATICS

WALT: use written methods when we multiply.

 

Watch the teaching video below and complete the activity sheet. Remember that questions on the sheet begin easy and get harder as you progress.

Mark your work when you have finished to see how you got on.

 

 

 

COMPUTING

WALT: create a spreadsheet.

Following on from last week's computing lesson, go on to Purple Mash and create a spreadsheet to practice your times tables. 

 

 

 

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The class will have PE this afternoon and so, instead you can complete a Joe Wicks lesson, practice our new whole school GROOVY GROVERS or choose a fitness activity of you own. Remember to warm up first, before you exercise and cool down afterwards.
