AIM HIGH BELIEVE, FLY HIGH ACHIEVE

Thursday

Today we will be learning to read the tricky words - we, me and be.

You could start by pracitisng quick recall of all of the sounds and actions learnt so far - s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, f, l, ll, ss, j, v, w, x, y, z, qu, sh + ch. See if you can also sing the alphabet song.

Next we would like you to look at the tricky words - he, we, me, be, she. Talk about why these are tricky and how they cannot be sounded out phonetically. We need to learn these word from sight. Take a picture of each word with you imaginary camera and put it in your brain. Talk about which part of the word is tricky - the 'e' makes an 'ee' sound. Can you find any of these words in the sentences below? If you do, put a circle around it. Next you could add the sound buttons and have a go at reading the attached sentences. Good luck!
