This week we will be learning about Diwali. The children will be looking at objects of interest and listening to stories.
In literacy we will be looking at sources of light and thinking about fireworks and the sounds that they make.
In maths we will move on to comparing the numbers 1, 2 and 3. Please see the attached sheets for enhancement activity ideas.
In phonics we will be recapping on the sounds -ll, ff, ss and the tricky words - I, go, no. There is no sheet attached as this is reinforcement work.
Later in the week, we will be completing some end of phase assessments. You will find attached a 'Tricky Word Mat' and a 'High Frequency Word Mat' for Phase 2 phonics. Please recap on all of the sounds covered so far and work on blending sounds to read CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words e.g. g-e-t and segmenting CVCwords for writing independently. Listen carefully for the initial, medial and final sound in the words.
