Communication and Information Sharing

Staff are available at the start and end of each session for quick transfers of information about your child. If you require a more in depth or private conversation please make an appointment and staff will ensure time is made as soon as possible. 

Nursery Uniform

White short sleeved polo shirt

Navy blue jumper / zip hoodie top / sweatshirt / cardigan

Coat

All-in-one waterproof suit for outside wet play (we play outside even in the rain)

Wellies

Sunhat and all day sun cream applied before nursery in the warm sunny weather

Apron and plastic food box for weekly Tuesday Food Technology session (Pre-School Only) 

Bag - A full change of clothes including underwear and socks. Even if your child is fully toilet trained we get messy and wet so a full set of clothes is required daily.

Autumn Term - Time to Talk

This term, as we settle into the new nursery routines and we get to build strong relationships, the children will cover topics based on the Time to Talk communication program. We are also proud to be part of the Staffordshire Stoke Speaks out screening program, where all our children receive Speech and Language Screening and receive early intervention where required.

- Animals

Each week, the children will focus on key vocabulary thorough play and also focused adult led activities.

At Home Learning

Once our Pre-School children are settled at nursery, we will set home learning tasks via the Tapestry online system. Parents will be sent an email to accept the account and then will be able to follow their child's learning journey at Hummingbirds and add their learning experiences at home, including the weekly home learning task. 

Each week, a play based home learning activity will be set for you to share at home. Parents or Carers are encouraged to take photos or videos and upload to their child's learning journey on Tapestry.
