This Weeks News and Notices

End of Year Message from Mrs Lamond

"As we come to the end of another school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on what a wonderful year it has been. Our children have made fantastic progress and achieved so much academically, socially and personally. It has been a joy to see their growth and development each day. Throughout the year, we’ve shared many exciting and enjoyable events, from creative arts and sports days to enriching trips and themed weeks. To see the children so engaged and enthusiastic is a delight.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our families for your continued support. Your partnership makes a real difference, and we are so grateful for the role you play in our school community.

Our very best wishes go to our Year 4 class who will be moving onto to their next school. We hope they can build on the foundations they have set at First School to continue to thrive and flourish.

Wishing you all a restful, fun-filled holiday together as a family. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting academic year ahead".

* Our PTFA

Thank you to everyone who has supported our PTFA. This year they have raised an incredible £9580. We will use this to purchase another two interactive whiteboards which we hope will be installed over the summer, some new picnic benches for the playground and some new wall art for some of the walls in school. This makes a huge difference to our school.

Staying Safe

On Thursday, we had a Safety Focus Day where the children learnt about keeping safe near water, at home and near roads. Below are links to some of the resources and information we shared with the children -

* Music Lessons in September - REGISTRATION CLOSES TODAY

Our September Year 3 and Year 4 children can learn to play an instrument, either guitar or keyboard. Our school music lessons continue to thrive under the guidance of Mr Relph, who has been a valued and dedicated member of our school community for many years, inspiring generations of pupils through his passion for music. * Changes to Free School Meals Eligibility

The Government has recently changed the way Free School Meal eligibility is assessed.

Full details can be found by clicking here. It is essential that all parents/carers complete an online eligibility check before September, as more families may now qualify under the new criteria. You should reapply even if your child currently receives Free School Meals, you can apply by clicking this link. Once your application has been processed, please inform the school office of the outcome by emailing: s-thomas@penkvalley.co.uk or j-wright@penkvalley.co.uk.

Please note - if you do not complete the eligibility check, your child may not receive a free school meal from September, even if they are entitled to one. If you have any questions or require support with your application, please contact or visit the school office before Friday 17th July and we will be happy to assist you.

   Prayer of the Week

Dear God,

Thank you for this school year - for all the fun we’ve had,
the things we’ve learned and the friends we’ve made.

Thank you for our teachers and helpers
who have looked after us and helped us grow.

Now it’s time for a holiday!
Please keep us safe and happy,

wherever we go and whatever we do.

Help us to rest, have fun and enjoy time

with our families and friends.

We look forward to September,

ready for new adventures next year.

Amen
