* Goodbye Helen!

Today we said a fond farewell to our school cook, Helen Bacon, after an incredible 26 years of service to our school community. Throughout her time with us, she has provided meals for generations of children, always with warmth, kindness and a smile. She has successfully guided the kitchen through many changes over the years while continuing to ensure that our children enjoyed a positive lunchtime experience every day.

We would like to thank her for her dedication, care and commitment to our school. She has been a valued member of our school family and will be greatly missed by both the children and staff.

We wish her every happiness and good health in her retirement and thank her for everything she has done for our school over the past 26 years.

* Harvest Service

We hope you enjoyed our Harvest Service on Monday and that you found the celebration uplifting and enjoyable. Thank you for your generosity in donating food items. Your support was greatly appreciated, and the donations will be passed on to the local food bank to help families in our community who may need a little extra support at this time. Your kindness will make a real difference.

* Allergy Awareness

On Tuesday, the children took part in an assembly about allergy awareness. They learnt what an allergy is, how someone might react if they have an allergy, and, most importantly, how we can all help to keep each other safe.

We shared three key messages with the children:

Do not share food with each other.

Be aware that some foods and products may not be safe for everyone to eat or touch.

Tell an adult straight away if you think someone is feeling unwell or having an allergic reaction.

We would be grateful if you could reinforce these important messages at home.

* Prayer Spaces

On Thursday 22nd October, Nursery, Year 1 and Year 2 will be taking part in a special Prayer Spaces sessions led by Cathy, our Youth Minister. The theme will be friendship and the children will be engaging in a variety of thoughtful activities designed to help them reflect, pause and explore the meaning of prayer in a calm and creative environment.  A family member of a Year 2 child can attend this session from 9.05am to 9.45am. These sessions offered a valuable opportunity for spiritual development and quiet contemplation.

* PTFA Cake Sales

Every half term, our PTFA hosts a Thursday afternoon cake sale on the stage on the main playground. Each class takes a turn to provide cakes for everyone to enjoy, helping to raise valuable funds for our school. Our first cake sale of the year will be on Thursday 15th October, with our Eagles (Year 4) parents kindly providing the cakes. We look forward to seeing you there and thank you, as always, for supporting our PTFA.

* Crazy Hair Day!
By popular request from the children, Crazy Hair Day is back! Children are invited to come to school with their craziest, funniest or most creative hairstyle on Thursday 22nd October. Donations to the PTFA would be very gratefully received. This can be made on parentpay.

Reception and Middle School applications open on Sunday 1st November
