Relationships and PSHE

PSHE is Personal Social and Health Education. This is our vision for PSHE.

‘Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again’ Nelson Mandela.

We are ourselves

Our vision evolves constantly to be responsive to the needs of our today's children. We want our children to be prepared for the challenges they face in life. Through learning about health and well-being, relationships and living in the wider world, children are given opportunities to develop their skills in a safe and nurturing environment enabling them to grow into confident, emotionally mature, caring and respectful members of our community.

Overview of the Relationships and PSHE curriculum

From September 2020 Relationships and Sex Education will be statutory in all schools.

We have designed a policy and curriculum for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) that meets the new requirements as well as the needs of our pupils.

We’ve worked hard to make sure that our new curriculum reflects:

  • Our pupils’ age and maturity levels, as well as their cultural and religious backgrounds
  • The values of our school community
  • Every pupil’s learning needs
  • What pupils need to know to be healthy and safe in school, in their personal relationships and in the wider world

If you would like more information there is a copy of  our RSE policy in the policy section of our website. Also above you will find an overview of our curriculum. Below are examples of the resources that we use for the units about Growing up.
