Swans

Hello and welcome back to Swans Class!

We hope you are looking forward to returning to school after the summer holidays. We are very much looking forward to seeing you. We are sure you will have lots of questions so below we have tried to predict what those questions may be and try to answer them.

What time do I come to school and where do I go to?

Your arrival time will be from 8:45. At 8.55 the gates will locked.  You will need to enter the school through the hall door in a morning and walk into the classroom.  Dismissal will be from the Larks and Owls door at 3:15. Please be patient as we dismiss the children it takes a little be of time to make sure every child is safely dismissed to the adult who is collecting them. If you need to speak to us please wait until all children have been dismissed. Thanks.

What do I need to bring?

As little as possible. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING A RUCKSACK.

On the first day you will need to bring

- pencil case. See the link page for what you need in your pencil case. Your pencil case will stay in school.

- water bottle

- coat (weather dependent)

LUNCH: Children can select a school lunch (paid via parentpay) or bring their own packed lunch. (KS2)

What about PE?

We will be doing PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On these days you will need to wear your PE kit for school all day. You will come to school in your PE kit and go home in your PE kit. You will need to wear a white T-shirt, navy shorts with your school jumper and navy track suit bottoms/leggings or a school tracksuit. Trainers that you can fasten independently are to be worn on your feet as PE may be outside.

What will happen at playtime and lunchtime?

Our playtime will be 10:35am and our MUGA and adventure equipment day will be on Friday. Our lunchtime will be from 12 noon until 1:00pm. You will play outside and then come in to have lunch in the hall. Our lunchtime supervisor is Mr Groves.

Who will be my teachers and what will the classroom be like?

Your teachers and teaching assistants will be Mrs Dudley, Mrs Woodward and Mrs Shackelton. You can see pictures of us on the link page. There are pictures of the classroom on the link page.

We hope this answers some of your questions. You will feel a little nervous and that is completely understandable but we will do our best to help you to feel comfortable and happy.

Mrs Scotton and Miss Shaw
