Safeguarding

Our Vision is -

"Hand in hand we work together to provide a happy, nurturing and safe environment

where every child is inspired to love learning, flourish and reach their God given potential"

Safeguarding is therefore at the heart of all that we do and we realise that a child needs to feel safe to enable them to achieve their best. We strive to achieve this.

Our school is committed to safeguarding children and maintaining a vigilant and safe environment. Everyone has a responsibility to act without delay to protect children. The school seeks to work in partnership with families and other agencies to improve the outcomes for children who are vulnerable or in need. We do this through child protection, health care plans, health and safety, safety on educational visits, pastoral support and much more. The School's contextual information is reviewed regulary with updates shared with all staff to ensure ongoing awareness and vigilance.

'Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. ‘Children’ includes everyone under the age of 18. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners should make sure their approach is child centred. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.’ (Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024)

If we have any concerns about a child or young person in our school, the information is shared immediately with our Designated Safeguarding Lead Mrs Sandra Lamond and/or Deputy Safeguarding Lead Mrs Victoria Lloyd (contact details below).  This may lead to a referral to Staffordshire Children's Advice and Support  (SCAS)

Parents can refer directly on 0300 111 8007 (option 1) or by using the online reporting form

We are an Operation Encompass school.  This means that we receive notification from Staffordshire Police when a domestic abuse incident has occurred in a child’s home, so that we may support the child.
