At St Mary and St Chad’s First School, we are proud of how our children are developing as responsible global citizens.
Children learn to:
• Care for the environment
• Understand global responsibility
• Make informed ethical choices
Autumn & Spring Term: Waste & Recycling
Our Eco Council helped introduce waste sorting across the school using our fun Waste Monster characters to remind children which bin to use.
Children also worked hard to keep our playground tidy through a litter picking rota.
Get Involved at Home
• What bins do you have at home?
• Design your own waste monsters or use our school ones
• Go on a bin hunt
• Take part in a litter picking walk (with an adult)
Summer Term: Biodiversity
Inspired by David Attenborough, children have been learning about the natural world and biodiversity.
Our Eco Council have started growing flowers and vegetables for our school garden.
Try This at Home
• Grow your own plant
• Bring it into school for the garden
• Explore local wildlife
Looking Ahead
