NUMBER BONDS

Practising number bonds within 100 helps children develop quick and accurate mental maths skills. By learning pairs of numbers that make totals such as 5, 10, 15, 20, 50 and 100, children become more confident when adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Knowing these facts automatically makes solving more complex calculations much easier. For example, children should know that 2 + 3 = 5, 7 + 3 = 10, 8 + 7 = 15, 12 + 8 = 20, 30 + 20 = 50, and 45 + 55 = 100. Regular practice helps children recognise number patterns, improve their fluency, and build a strong foundation for future maths learning.

Write these down, say them allowed or practise them on websites such as Hit the Button. Practising little and often is best for long term retainment of these facts.
