This Weeks Notices
* Halloween and Firework Safety
As a church school, we are discouraged from organising or engaging with Halloween based activities in our communities as it is being claimed as a Pagan festival, therefore this is inappropriate in a church school context. However, we recognise that many families may choose to take part in Halloween activities during the half-term break. Our priority is always the safety and wellbeing of our children, so we would like to share this helpful resource: How to Keep Children Safe at Halloween. There may also be some early bonfire events during half term so click the link for information about Fireman Sam Fireworks Safety
* Victorian Bake Off
Eagles have been learning about Victorian Britain. As part of our history and design curriculum, the children have been exploring the types of ingredients that would have been available during the Victorian era. They have tasted traditional ingredients, designed their own Victorian style biscuits and even had the chance to make and taste their creations. The excitement and enthusiasm have been wonderful to see!
* Educational Visits
We are pleased to share another exciting educational visit which happened this week. This visit supported the children's historical and geographical learning. Kingfishers visited Cadbury World where they explored where chocolate comes from and how it is made.
Unfortunately, Swans visit to Weston Park had to be rearranged due to the weather conditions..
The visit will now take place on Thursday 13th November
* Puffins Phonics
If you were unable to attend the Phonics Information Presentation on Monday, click the link for the information
* Prayer Spaces
This week, Hummingbirds, Puffins and Kingfishers took part in special Prayer Spaces sessions led by Rev Simon. The theme was “Light” and the children engaged in a variety of thoughtful activities designed to help them reflect, pause and explore the meaning of prayer in a calm and creative environment. Thank you to the Puffins parents who also attended. These sessions offered a valuable opportunity for spiritual development and quiet contemplation and the children responded beautifully
* 100% Attendance
This term, (from 3/9/25 to 24/10/25), 81 children have achieved 100% attendance. This is a brilliant achievement for the first half term and they were presented with a certificate today. We will analyse the attendance again next term (from 3/11/25 to 19/12/25). Can more than 81 children achieve 100% attendance next time? Remember... everyday in school makes a difference!
* Poppy Appeal
We will be selling poppy merchandise after the half term holiday. Please see the photograph showing the products that we have available. We only have a limited supply but we hope by selling these products we will raise some money for the 2025 Poppy Appeal. If your child wishes to purchase any of this merchandise, they must bring the correct money in an envelope with what they want to buy written on the outside. If they wish to donate and would prefer a paper poppy, they are available also. This must be done in the same way, money in a envelope with 'poppy' written on the outside. The children will be able to make their purchases at break times in the hall.
Prices - snapband/ruler £1.50 Wrist strap £1 poppy reflector 50p

* Bear Reading Competition
Today the children will come home with information about a reading competition to link with our Children in Need fundraising. Look out for it in your child's bag or see a copy in the letter section of the website
