AIM HIGH BELIEVE, FLY HIGH ACHIEVE

Badger Group

This week the children will be learning the final digraph in Phase 3 - 'er'. Please complete the Jolly Phonics Cartoonito sheet below to reinforce this sound. We will learn to read the tricky word: her.

The remaining few weeks of this phase will be spent focusing on quick recall and correct formation of all of the phonemes covered so far: s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, f, l, ll, ss, j, v, w, x, y, z, qu, sh, ch, th, ng, ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, oi, ear, air, ure, er.  In addition, we will be working on blending and segmenting.

This week we would like you to play the online Phonics Play game called 'Sentence Substitution'. This game supports reading and encourages the children to ensure that their sentences make sense.  It would also be great of you could write some captions to match the woodland scene. You could start by cutting out some of the animals and placing them on the background. In school we have talked about a different woodland scene and we have been working on writing simple sentences. Remember to start your sentence with a capital letter, use a full stop and finger spaces. Good luck!
