Weekly Phonics Homework

Each week we will upload an overview and relevant accompanying sheets to show you what we have been learning about in phonics this week. Please reinforce this learning at home by practising the new sounds, actions and formation of each phoneme at home. We will also offer you some suggestions of word and sentence level work here necessary to extend the learning further.

We deliver our phonics programme using a multi-sensory approach and use the visual clues and actions from 'Jolly Phonics'. Lots of additional guidance and support can be found at: https://www.jollylearning.co.uk.

Alongside this the children may be asked to learn some 'tricky words', these are words which have to be learnt by sight as they are not phonetically plausible. In Reception we focus on the phonic phases 2-4, a full list of tricky words that we will learn to read and spell can be found below.
