AIM HIGH BELIEVE, FLY HIGH ACHIEVE

General information

Hello Eagles Class.

I hope you are looking forward to returning to school and we are very much looking forward to seeing you and welcoming you all into Year 4.

You may have lots of questions so below I have tried to predict what those questions may be and try to answer them.

See you all soon,

Mrs Jlaugh

What time do I come to school and where do I go to?

School starts at 8.55am but the doors will open for you at 8.45am.

Come in through the hall doors. If this changes, a member of staff like Mrs Ward will be there to help you.

Go through the nest into the Year 4 cloak room then come straight into Eagles classroom.

School will end at 3.15pm. Please ask your parents to stand by the playground stage so that we can see then fom the classroom window as they arrive to collect you.

What do I need to bring?

As little as possible. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING A RUCKSACK.

On the first day you will need to bring

- pencil case. See the link page for what you need in your pencil case.

- water bottle

- packed lunch if you are not having a school lunch

- coat

-your glasses if you wear/need any.

What about PE?

We will have PE on a Tuesday and Thursday.  On these days you will need to wear your PE kit for school all day. PE on a Thursday will be swimming and so you will also need to remember to bring a bag with:

  • a towel
  • swimming costume ( no bikinis or long baggy swim shorts please)
  • a swimming hat (girls & boys)
  • goggles if you have brought a letter to explain why you need goggles.

A letter will come home about swimming during the first week back.

You will come to school in your PE kit and go home in your PE kit. You will need to wear a white T-shirt, navy shorts with your school jumper and navy track suit bottoms/leggings or a school tracksuit. Trainers that you can fasten are to be worn on your feet.

What will happen at playtime and lunchtime?

Hopefully in September, we will all be able to use the whole playground and see our friends from other classes. Again, we will know more when we arrive on our first day.

  • Playtime will be at 10.40 am (snacks of fresh fruit or vegetable)
  • Our lunchtime will be from 12 noon until 1:00pm.

Who will be my teachers and what will the classroom be like?

As you already know, I will be your Year 4 class teacher and Mrs Norris and Mrs Ward will also be working in Year 4 with us this year. Mrs Lamond will however teach you Religious Education and Computing during the week.

I hope this answers some of your questions. You will feel a little nervous and that is completely understandable but we will do our best to help you to feel comfortable and happy.

Keep smiling...

Mrs Jlaugh
