AIM HIGH BELIEVE, FLY HIGH ACHIEVE

Creative Curriculum

This week we will be learning about the artist Henri Rousseau. First we would like you to have a look at some of his artwork and see if you can talk about it with an adult. Do you like it? Why? Why not? How do you think it was made? What can you see in the pictures? We would like you to then focus on the picture 'Tiger in a Tropical Storm'.

This week your challenge is to create your own jungle artwork in the style of Henri Rousseau.

Firstly we would like you to have a look through the jungle animal photo pack. Talk about each animal and its features. Next choose your favourite and draw it in the middle of a large piece of plain paper. Next we would like you to draw lots of interesting shaped jungle leaves or maybe you could print some leaves to hide your animal. Once your work is dry, we would finally like you to add some extra collage detail to your work. May be you could add some 3d jungle leaves or beautiful flowers or vines. Lastly we would like you to share your work and display it, see if you can spot any links between your work and the work of the artist Henri Rousseau. Have fun and be as creative as you can!

Please remember to share any of your work with us on Tapestry.
