AIM HIGH BELIEVE, FLY HIGH ACHIEVE

Badger Group

This week we will be continuing our work on spelling two syllable words. An adult could say each words and then you could have a go at syllable clapping. Next you could segment each syllable and write down as many sounds as you can. Sample words: visit, jacket, cobweb, wicked, exit, zigzag, liquid, towel, poison.

We will also be working on blending words and captions for reading. You could ask an adult to write out the words below and see if you can add the sound buttons and blend to read. Then sort the words into those which are real and those which are nonsense.. Sample words: chain, shook, powder, march, harsh, thain, chook, nowder, farch, barsh.

You could use the resources below to make a town scene of your own, then see if you can write some sentences to match. Remember to use a capital letter, full stop and finger spaces.
