AIM HIGH BELIEVE, FLY HIGH ACHIEVE

Friday 12th June 2020

Good morning troops,

How are we today? Have you had a green week? I hope you have coped with the weather. It has been really cold this week, especially yesterday! Can I just say a huge THANK YOU for all the pictures I am getting from all of my puffins learning at home. Your efforts are amazing. Keep sending me things please.

Well we are at the end of the week and then I will let you have a couple of days rest- you see I am not mean and vicious!

Today:

English: Today we are going to practise our handwriting. First complete some handwriting patterns- zig zags, circles, waves. Now work on letter formation, size and simple joins.  Write each letter of the alphabet as a capital letter and a lower case letter. Have we remembered tortoise, monkey and giraffe? Focus on the specific needs of your child, ( formation, joins or size).

Now dictate this passage and see if the children can remember their formation whilst thinking about other things!

Rain rain go away come again another day.

Sun sun the rain has gone come out now and  start our fun.

Friday is the end of the school week. Saturday and Sunday are days of the weekend.

Phonics: Today we are going to revise all the oi alternatives. Work through the power point. Ask the children to write the words on whiteboards/ in their books. Practise reading and writing the sentences.

Maths: Today we are going to reason and problem solve using one more or one less. Work through the powerpoint revising yesterdays work and looking at some problems to solve. Discuss different methods used to solve the problems. Now see if the children can independently to solve them.

Topic: PE- Today we are going to create a summertime groovy groovers. Listen to Madonna 'Holiday'. How does it make you feel? Can you clap along to the beat? Can you identify the different parts of the song- introduction, verse, chorus, musical interlude. Can the children put together a new groovy groovers to holiday?

Finish the week with some quiet reading.

Have a restful weekend and I will be in touch next week.

Stay safe.

Mrs Lloyd
